17 Waterloo
Junior Boys Volleyball Tournament
Eden
took part in a 16 team tournament at the University
of Waterloo and entered two teams. Eden
1 finished first in their pool as they defeated Waterloo
Collegiate (25-17; 25-7), F.E. Madill from the Stratford
area (25-12; 25-16) and Woodland Christian from Waterloo
(25-12; 25-13). Eden 2 also finished first as they
defeated Georgian Bay (25-12; 25-21), Sir John A. MacDonald
(25-11; 25-14) and then split games with Oakridge from
London (14-25; 25-23). Eden 2 took on Grand River from
Kitchner and lost 25 to 22 and 25 to 18 and dropped
them into the consolation round. Here they defeated
Forest Heights from Kitchner 24 to 26; 25 to 9 and
15 to 13 to advance to the Consolation final. Here
Eden was defeated by F. E. Madill 25 to 22; 24 to 26
and 12 to 15 to finish fifth overall. Eden 1 took on
Forest Hieghts in the quarter finals and defeated
them 25-20 and 25-22. In the semi-finals they took
on Grand River
and defeated
them
26-24; 25-13 to advance to
the finals. Here Eden took on a strong Oakridge team
from London and once
again
came away with an impressive victory 25-19 and 25-19
to capture the Gold Medal.

23/24 McMaster
University Junior
Boys Volleyball Tournament
Eden
took part in a 20 team tournament at McMaster University
and entered two teams. Eden
1 finished first in their pool as they defeated Rick
Hansen 1 (25-22; 25-21), ESC Nouvelle-Alliance (25-16;
25-15), Sir Allan McNab (17-25;
25-16 and 15-8) and Rick Hansen 2 (25-16 and 25-15).
Eden
2 also
finished first as they
defeated Steven Lewis (25-23; 25-13), Widdifield
(7-25; 25-13 and 15-13), Bishop Ryan (25-19; 26-24)
and Assumption (25-21; 25-13). In the quarter-finals
Eden 2 took
on
Mississauga 1 and lost 26 to 24; 14 to 25 and 12 to
15. Eden 1 took on
Mississauga 2 in the quarter finals and defeated them
28-26 and 25-17. In the semi-finals they took on Mississauga
1 and defeated them 25-22; 25-23 to advance to the
finals.
Here Eden took on a strong Sinclair team
from Pickering and were defeated 22-25 and 24-26 to
finish second and capture the Silver Medal.

defeated Governor Simcoe 2 games to 0: Scores 25-22 and 25-15.

Invitational Volleyball
Tournament
Eden
hosted a 15 team tournament. Eden
1 finished first in their pool as they defeated Westdale
(25-9; 25-10), St. Andrew's College (25-17; 25-15),
St. Jean de Brebeuf (25-16; 25-21) and
Cameron Heights (25-21; 25-14). Eden 2 finished
third in their pool as they lost to Heritage (25-22;
25-23) defeated Hillfield (25-17; 25-10), but split
games with Centennial (18-25; 25-12) and Waterloo Oxford
(25-19;
18-25). In the semi-finals
Eden 1 took on Denis Morris and defeated
them 25-9 and 25-18 to advance to the finals.
In the finals they took on St. Andrew's College and
defeated them 25-16; 25-13 to capture the Gold
Medal.

defeated Sir Winston Churchill 2 games to 0: Scores
25-22 and 25-15.

7 Mississauga Invitational
Volleyball
Tournament
Eden
took part in an 12 team tournament at Mississauga Secondary
School. Eden
finished second in their pool as they defeated Richview,
Lorne Park, and they split with
a tough Mississauga Bantam team. In the quarter-finals
Eden took on Mayfield and defeated them. In
the semi-finals Eden once again took on the Mississagua
Bantam team and lost isn a very close three game match.

Newman Invitational
Volleyball
Tournament
The Jr Boys
B-Line played in a 12 team tournament at Cardinal Newman
on Friday. In Pool play the defeated Bishop
Ryan 25-21/27-26 and Highland 25-14/25-11 to finish
first. In the quarter finals the fought hard to beat
ACMT in three
13-25/25-20 and 15-5. In the semi final round the took on
a strong home team in Cardinal Newman but came away with
the victory in three 20-25/25-23/15-10. In the championship
play the took on Sherwood and were defeated 22-25/15-25 to
come away with the silver.

Hansen Invitational
Volleyball
Tournament
Eden
took part in an 8 team tournament at Rick Hansen in
Mississauga. Eden
finished first in their pool as they defeated Eastview
(25-10; 25-15), Rick Hansen B team (25-12; 25-16),
and they split with a tough Sir Allan McNab team 22-25;
25-16. In the quarter-finals Eden took on Rick Hansen
Bantam team and defeated them 25 - 17 and 25 - 20.
In the semi-finals Eden once again took on Eastview
and defeated them 25-18
and 25-18 to advance to the finals. In the finals they
took on the host school Rick Hansen A Team and
were defeated by the scores of 19 - 25; 25-19; 5-15
to finish second and capture the silver Medal.

defeated Holy Cross 2 games to 0: Scores 25- 18
and 25- 14.

21 Assumption Invitational
Volleyball
Tournament The Eden Jr Boys Volleyball team participated
in a 12 team tournament at Assumption Catholic Secondary
School in Burlington on Friday.
In pool play the Eden A-Line took on White Oaks where they
defeated them in two straight 25-15/25-19. They then played
against Abbey Park and easily won this match 25-10/25-16,
and in the third match of pool play action they powered to
victory over MM Robinson 25-11/25-11 to finish first in their
pool. The strong play put the Eden A-Line into first place
overall for the regrouping into the quarter finals where
they took on the home team from Assumption and easily defeated
them 25-10/25-10. In semi final action they once again faced
White Oaks where they beat them again 25-13/25-23. In the
final gold medal match, they faced a team from St. Jean Brebeuf
in Hamilton and defeated them 25-18/25-22 to capture the
gold medal.
The B-Line who were also entered into the tournament played
well to finish third overall after pool play and were eventually
knocked out in the semi-final round by St. Jean Brebeuf.

Eden
hosted a 15 team tournament. Eden
1 finished first in their pool as they defeated Confederation
(25-13; 25-9), Abby Park (25-12; 25-11),
Sherwood (25-23; 25-21) and split with E. L. Crossley
(25-22; 24-25). Eden 2 finished third in their pool
as they defeated Notre Dame (25-14; 25-13) but split
games with St. Francis (25-17; 18-25) and A. N. Myer
(25-21; 10-25) and lost to Chatham Kent (16-25;
22-25). In the semi-finals
Eden 1 took on Sir Allan McNab and defeated them 25-21
and 25-20 to advance to the finals. In the finals they
took on a very strong team from Rick Hansen Secondary
School and were defeated 20-25 and
19-25 to
capture the
Silver
Medal.

4 Brebeuf
Challenge Cup
Eden
travelled to St. Jean de Brebeuf to take part in
a 16 team challenge cup tournament. Eden
finished first in their pool as they went 3 and
0. Eden won their quarterfinals but were defeated in
the semi-finals.

SOSSA DOUBLE A CHAMPIONSHIPS

Eden
hosted the Double A SOSSA Championships. In
the first match of the day Sir Allan McNab defeated
McKinnon Park. Eden took on A. N. Myer in the next
match and defeated them (25-18; 25-9 and 25 - 13) to
set up a championship match with Sir Allan McNab out
of Hamilton. In a well played match Eden came out on
top to capture their third straight Double A SOSSA
Championship as they defeated McNab 23 to 25; 25 to
12; 25 to 19 and 25 to 23.
