 Nov 9     Eden vs Grimsby

The Lady Flyers opened with a strong effort against Grimsby, eventually falling short by a score of 4-1. Taylor Wiens was a machine between the pipes, making several acrobatic saves and Carly Mathews notched our only goal on the power play.

Nov 17     Eden at McDonald's Tournament

The Lady Flyers 2nd team participated in the Macdonalds Tournament, opening with a 2-0 win over Governor Simcoe, then a 2-0 loss against Ridgeway, and a 5-1 loss against Dunnville. Goal scorers for Eden were Julianne Janzen, Briar Hunter, and Mikaela Reshke. Kudos to Tayler Wiens who registered the shutout, and Allie Snow, who stopped over 100 shots to keep the other games close.

Nov 24     Eden vs Governor Simcoe

In a shortened game due to lack of refs, the Lady Flyers opened the regular season with a 2-1 loss vs Simcoe, despite dominating the play. Our goal was scored by Carly Matthews, and Holly Goertz played solidly in her first time between the pipes.

Nov 29     Eden vs Ridley

The Lady Flyers hung in tough for 2 periods against a strong Ridley squad, despite missing 4 of our top defenders. In the 3rd Ridley pulled away with 6 goals, making the final score 9-2. Carly Matthews and Holly Goertz scored the Eden goals.

Nov 30    WestPark vs Eden

Eden again played tough against a talented team from West Park, losing by a score of 8-1. Raiven de Souza scored the lone goal for Eden on a breakaway, the first goal scored against West Park this season.

Dec 6 Grimsby vs Eden

The Lady Flyers played perhaps their best game of the season against a strong Grimsby squad, controlling much of the play, and holding Grimsby to 10 shots through the first 2 periods. Unfortunately without our regular goalie, Grimsby scored 5 times in periods 1 and 2 and added an empty netter making the final score 6-0. Thanks to Bailey Bondy who played net for the first 2 periods until Mackenzie Wiens arrived and shut out Grimsby for the 3rd.

Dec 14 Eden vs South Lincoln

Congratulations to the 2nd team on a 5-0 shutout of South Lincoln yesterday. Mackenzie Hunter scored a hat trick, Paige Schappert and Megan Martilla added singles and Kara Emberson had 5 assists. Raiven de Souza registered the shutout between the pipes.

Dec 21 Eden vs Grimsby

Against a stronger, improved Grimsby team, Eden put up a good fight, but were defeated by a score of 9-0. Thanks to Shannon Laing who made a guest appearance between the pipes and kept the score reasonable.

Jan 10 WestPark vs Eden

The Lady Flyers got down 5-0 early against a strong West Park team. Although they played better in the 2nd and 3rd periods, the final score ended up 7-0 for West Park. Raiven de Souza played a strong game between the pipes.

Jan 17 Governor Simcoe vs Eden

In a game that featured end-to-end rushes, non-stop excitement, and a mad scramble at the end, the Lady Flyers were ultimately defeated by Governor Simcoe by a score of 3-2. Goal scorers were Julianne Janzen, and Carly Matthews.

     Eden vs Ridley

The Lady Flyers played a good game but were unable to capatalize on their many chances against a strong goalie for Ridley. Carly Matthews scored the lone goal in a 4-1 loss.

     South Lincoln vs Eden
