EDEN FLYERS SR. BOYS VOLLEYBALL OFSAA
This weekend in Ottawa, our Eden Flyers captured a well-earned SILVER MEDAL after an incredible run of volleyball. The boys dominated most games, battled through a few that went to 3 sets and proved that elite skill means nothing without an equally elite mental game. They delivered by treating every match like the biggest game of their lives.
In the final, the Flyers faced Uxbridge, the reigning OFSAA Gold Medalists. Uxbridge entered confident, far too confident, and our boys had them shaken. We nearly took the first set, falling just 28–26 after a momentum-changing call, and dropped the second. But the Flyers refused to roll over. They stormed back to take the third set 25–18, the only set Uxbridge lost all weekend. Although the fourth slipped away, our boys walked off the court as proud silver medalists, having pushed the province’s top team to their limit.
We are incredibly proud of George, Cooper, Owen, Jesse, Mattheo, Nick, Kai, Simeon, Campbell, Anthony, Lucas, Hudson, Lucas, Ian, Davis, Felix and Trent for their commitment, heart, and passion.
Nick, Owen, and Simeon attacked with such speed and power on the outsides and hammered spin serves that kept opponents scrambling.
Cooper and Jesse dominated the middle with huge, reaching blocks and unstoppable swings.
George, our captain and our libero, scooped up massive attacks and passed absolute dimes to run the offense.
Kai, our setter, ran a brilliant tournament, controlling tempo, disguising plays, attacking when needed, and catching teams off guard with well-timed dumps.
These boys stunned the crowd with their talent and their bleached blonde locks. We will forever be proud of them for this amazing season of Eden volleyball. Congratulations, Flyers, on an unforgettable tournament and an outstanding season. We are so proud of you!
