SLC Updates--The First 25
Tomorrow we are meeting for Prayer Thursday. Last week was an amazing turnout so join us again as we pray for our community and our world. We meet at 8:15am in the chapel which is located in the cafeteria. Friday will feature an Outpour Friday with a live student band.

Guidance
If you are in Grade 11 and interested in learning more about Eden’s 6 Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs, please come to the drama room at lunch on Thursday Sept 15 for a short info session and opportunity to sign-up.
Attention all Grade 12s - Please swing by the guidance bulletin board or the guidance office to scan the QR codes to sign-up for the upcoming post-secondary presentations.
Attention all students registered in a night school course for Semester 1. Night school has now started and you should see the course pop up in your D2L. Make sure you are logging into your online course every day and completing your lessons and assessments by the due dates.
Volunteer Opportunity
The Rankin Cancer Bottle Drive fundraiser is happening this Saturday - Sept 19 and we need volunteers from 10am to 3pm. If you are available in the morning or afternoon, and want to earn some community service hours, come to guidance to sign-up!
Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee will have their first meeting tomorrow, Thursday Sept 17 at 8am in the Library. If you enjoy helping others and making a difference, come to the library at 8am tomorrow to learn more!
Black Students Association
The Black Student Association will meet on Wednesdays at lunch in Rm 112. Our first meeting is today! We encourage all students who identify as Black to come and check it out. It is a great opportunity to meet other students, play games and plan activities.
GSA Meeting
There will be a GSA meeting on Thursday at lunch in Rm 160. GSA stands for Gay Straight Alliance. This is a safe, welcoming space for LGBTQ+ students and allies to hang out, support each other, and plan fun events. Bring your lunch, meet new friends, and share your ideas for upcoming activities and awareness days. Everyone is welcome!
School Production- The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Attention all students who want to be a part of this year’s amazing Drama Production - The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. We are looking for people who want to help with the following:-Stage Management-Stage Crew-Set Construction-Set Design and Painting-Special Effects-Digital Media-Poster and Program Design-Sound Design-Lighting Design-Costuming-Hair and Makeup
We are looking for student leaders to head up each department, as well as those who will work as crew. The open call will be next week on Thursday, September 24th after school in the drama room. Key information about the play and crew roles will be provided there. If you cannot make the meeting, please see Ms. Straitton. Please bring a pen or pencil! All are welcome.

Do you love to write, have opinions to share, or want a chance to see your work published? If you’re interested in learning more about writing opportunities like Cappies, The Flyer, and more, come to a quick information session this Friday in Room 226 at lunch. FRENCH CLUB

Game Day Crew

Cheerleading Tryouts
Cheerleading Tryouts will continue tomorrow after school. Our second tryout will be held at Tigers Athletics tomorrow from 3:15-5pm. Please make sure the tryout form has been completed on School Cash online.

Terry Fox Walkathon
Way to go Flyers! As of 8am this morning we have 132 student participants registered and have raised $1965 for cancer research. This is amazing but I’m sure there are more out there who would like to participate on Friday with a little persuasion. So participants, make sure you invite a friend to walk alongside you to help the fight against cancer. Let’s see if we can reach 200 participants and reach our fundraising goal of over $4000. Remember that School Cash Online permission form closes at 3pm this afternoon. Fundraising through schools.terryfox.ca continues until the end of the week. Great job Flyers!
