SLC Updates--The First 25
Tomorrow we are meeting to pray for the Grade 10/11 Retreat. There will be no Prayer Thursday this week. We meet at 8:15am in the chapel which is located in the cafeteria!
Life Groups
Jr. boys will be meeting for The Foundry at lunch in the SLC. We’ll be continuing our new series on The Book of Joshua. See you there!
DRAMA - “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” - Auditions
Auditions are starting next week for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! Auditions will take place over 2 days - Monday October 5th, and Wednesday October 7th. You only need to sign up to audition one of the 2 days - each day will have a limit of 30 spots. The auditions will be from 3-5pm each day.
A number of people will be asked to attend CALLBACKS on Wednesday, October 14th, to finalize roles and assess vocal ability for main characters. Callbacks will also be from 3-5pm. If you wish to be considered for an acting role for this year’s production you MUST attend one of the 2 preliminary audition dates and the CALLBACK date if necessary. There will be no exceptions. Please do not ask to come late or leave early - we are considering only committed applicants for these roles.
Come to the auditions ready to participate in energetic drama games. Dress appropriately and bring something to write with. You do not need to prepare any material. Sign up sheets and information will be posted on the door to the drama room! Come out and be part of the LEGEND!

Math Contest Club
Are you thinking of writing a math contest at Eden this year? Come out to Room 209 at lunch on Thursday to see what it’s all about. We will have some interesting problems you can work on with others, and some information about this year’s contests. Bring your lunch. See you there.
Chess Club
Chess club meets today in room 235 at lunch. Also, if you’re coming to the tournament on Thursday, please meet in room 235 today at lunch.
Robotics Club!
Hey Eden, the robotics club is back in session! Come down if you’re interested in robotics and building your skills. All new members are welcome and the first meeting will be today, after school in room 148. Any questions, talk to Mr. Vanderkooy, see you then!
Tennis Team
Junior tennis players, there will be a practice today after school as we prepare for Zone this Thursday.
Golf Team
Congratulations to the entire team, Tiffany, Jaxon, Callan, Roan, Jack, Cohen & Danyoo, for advancing to the SOSSA tournament this Friday. You’ve done Eden proud!
String Ensemble
Do you play violin, viola, cello or double-bass? Would you like to join the Eden String Ensemble on Wednesdays after school? Please see or email Mr Moccio in room 156 for more information. At this time, you must own or rent your own string instrument and having experience is required. This group will be preparing for our Winter Concert in December.
Eclectic Tendencies
Are you a Grade 11 or 12 singer? Do you play instruments as well? Eclectic Tendencies is looking for new members this year. Auditions will take place at lunch time next Monday, October 5 and Tuesday October 6 at lunch in room 156. Please see or email Mr Moccio for more details.
Jazz Band
There will be a jazz band rehearsal tomorrow after school in music room 157. Concert band will be cancelled this week and will resume next week.
Yearbooks
Anyone who has spare, online classes or co-op during period 4 you can come to the main office between 9:30-11:00am this week to pick up your yearbook. Past grads will receive an email with instructions for pick up later this week.
Fitness Room on Wednesdays
Every Wednesday the Fitness room after school will be reserved for Women. Whether you're an experienced lifter or stepping into a weight room for the very first time, Wednesdays are set aside specifically for female students to train in a comfortable, supportive environment. No experience needed—come work out with friends and crush your fitness goals. See you after school on Wednesday.

Do you want to win $1000? OSSTF celebrates your achievements with their annual Student Achievement Awards. Submit an original piece of writing, visual art, or media based on this year’s theme of Creating a Meaningful Legacy, and you could be chosen to attend an award ceremony in Toronto! Attention Indigenous students in Grades 9–12!
Are you interested in getting involved, building connections, and having your voice heard? Applications are now open to become an Indigenous Student Rep for the 2026–2027 school year. See the flyer outside of room 226 for the QR code to get the application form. Applications are due October 8.
We’re also inviting any First Nations, Inuit, or Métis students to connect with our school Indigenous Council. We meet regularly to plan events, learn about opportunities, build community, and support one another. If you’re interested in either opportunity—or just want to learn more—please see Ms. Speck in Room 226 or contact Ivy Jones, our Indigenous Student Trustee.
